Follow Me Don't Follow Me.

Monday 27 July 2009
8.50 am

· It is interesting watching different people deal with someone that wants to argue, I was the one walking out of the room into another part of the house...within 5 minutes everyone was hiding with me and we laughed.

· My daughter is leaving to visit her father’s family in Western Australia. I am afraid that she will never come back.

· During my holidays all I did was look at real estate and now I am dreaming about floor plans.

· I have been tempted to return to the dark side.

· I am typing this list when I should be doing homework, laundry, drying my hair and making myself a coffee.

· My graphics tablet is not working and I cannot re install the software that would fix it, as it is buried and locked away with all my other junk at a storage unit in Camperdown.I hate storage.

Tuesday 4 August 2009
2.29 pm

· I am bored and need something, anything to happen.

· I am sick of looking at 1 bedroom flats and wish I could look at 2 bedroom houses (with a little garden would be perfect).

· My list is all complaints so far BUT my neck hurts, sorry.

· I am thankful for the friends and family that I have around me they make me laugh, give advice and they tell you that you are looking good and doing well and these are things I REALLY need to hear right now.

· I had a nice weekend with Ben, Amanda and Lili... We walked, talked and had lunch together which was lovely.

· I think I should stop writing this list as all I can think of now is more negative crap and my brain has stopped working.

I need to find my nest.

I have become numb with it all and it is all nothing.

Another Semester Finished.

Well, here I sit having finished all the exams and work required...what will I do with my time for the next three weeks?
I will promise myself that I will draw.
I will vow to carry my sketch book and camera around with me everywhere looking for and seizing upon those moments of inspiration...I will, I will.
I will also over indulge on facebook and blogger, I will stalk Bulldog like I used to and send messages to my favorite Weasel.
I will visit my daughter and play with my granddaughter...Oh joy.
I will read newspapers and drink coffee.
I will wish I had more money but be glad that I don't.
I will think about old friends and wonder what people are up too these days.
I will love and be loved.
I will eat the forbidden donut (10 points to anyone that knows where that line comes from)

I will be uplifted by the everyday.
You are most welcome to join me.

The Brilliant and the Dark.

We were sitting outside on the steps, in our street, talking, when a homeless guy walked by pushing a pram all loaded up with plastic bags full of little bits of rubbish, food wrappers, crushed cans and stuff.

As we watched him walk by I told Ben of how I had seen him before and that he cleaned up the garden beds in the little park nearby and how I wondered why he collected these things and Ben said-

"He's building a nest."

My mind raced. What a beautiful thing to imagine.

Where is the nest?

How big must it be?

How amazing it must look.

In my mind it is big and colourful from all the wrappers and bags he has woven into it, it is at least the size of Big Birds nest and it is so warm and cosy....I want one.

The Bridge Climb - The view is awesome dude!

What can I say...I can say that it was O.K... I would have preferred a little bit more of that 'oh shit oh shit I'm gunna die' feeling but they have gone so totally over the top with safety that I found myself looking for danger, and that is not a healthy thought process to have, especially for me.
Would I do it again? Yes, but at night next time..It would be more thrilling at night.

Before you even get to the bridge proper you have to do a few things.

  • Sit in a little waiting area until your group is called.
  • When called you are moved into another even smaller room to fill out forms, confess to any major operations in the last 6 months and...be breathalysed (where's the fun in that?)
  • You are then told to walk through another door and to stand on little circles painted onto the floor, I assumed this was to prevent us from getting tangled up with each other.
  • The nice woman then looks us all up and down in order to size us for our sexy one piece jump suit (not the right name me thinks)
  • You are told to remove watches, large earrings, bracelets and any hair accessories..elastic bands are o.k but scrunchies are out. At this point my mind wanders thinking of what sort of weapon a scrunchy could be fashioned into!!!
  • You are told to remove everything from your pockets and to only wear a light layer of clothing under the suit.
  • Then, with jump suit in hand, it is into another smaller room with lockers.
  • Choose a locker, walk behind one of the little curtain change areas and strip.
  • Spend 1 min putting on your jump suit and 10 minutes helping others put theirs on the right way
  • Place all your contraband into the locker and the locker key around your neck.
  • Is this starting to sound like prison yet???
  • You are then made to walk through a metal detector once through the detector you are double checked by someone with a hand held wand thingy
  • Oh and you are told that when walking through the detector just to clasp your hand around your locker key (that is around your neck) so as not to set it off- At this point my companion turns to say that this is a tip that we can now use at international airports
  • My mind wanders, thinking of what you could conceal in your closed hand that could possibly cause chaos- a tiny explosive device, a tiny gun, a really nasty tiny dog.
  • Blahh blahh you get kitted up
  • You climb/walk the bridge.
  • You do all the above points in reverse (ouch)
  • You collect your free group photo and refuse to pay $24 plus for any of the other photos they took whilst you were up there.
  • You go to the pub with the nice Scottish couple you met whilst climbing and have a stiff drink.

THE END

But seriously it was fun and easy enough for anyone to do

(please see terms and conditions available on the bridge climb web site)

THIS is also very cool

What's It All About? (Just a Note)

Can someone please tell me why this...is the most looked at picture on my blog?
I mean, come on!
If you have your doubts look at the Feedjit thingy in my side bar, go to the bottom of it and click on "Watch In Real Time" or just look at all the people that have arrived via Google Images and MY picture of an "Emo Kid"

WHY????????????
As this is troubling me soooo much I may just go and look at myself in a mirror and cry... LOTS... whilst applying thick black eyeliner all around my eyes and possibly even my lips and eyelids... All the while listening to really depressing music.
You know I'll do it...I will.
Don't try to stop me.

The Great Photo Conspiracy. EXPOSED.(and a drawing of a monkey)

Never in my life have I liked having my photo taken, NEVER...well perhaps there was a time when I was six or seven and once a few years ago but come to think of it both of these occasions involved professional photographers so I guess these occasions do not count.
But I digress.
For the last ten years I have activity avoided having my photo taken (sometimes to the extreme) BUT this morning I worked out just what has been going on. It was in the early hours, just after your alarm goes off for the 4th time and you are half awake but still half asleep, that it came to me, the answer to the question of-
“Why do some people ALWAYS look terrible in photos?”
AND HERE IS THE ANSWER....WAIT FOR IT....This will BLOW your mind
Scenario-
You are out with friends or family and a camera is brought out (wiped out more likely) you are actively trying to avoid the group photo but there is no escape so you surrender.
The instant that person depresses the button to take the photo TIME STOPS it is then that this group of people (sick sick people) from another dimension rush in and give you a middle part, puff powder all over your face just so you look extra pale and smudge black stuff under your eyes. Cousin Jack (or whoever) gets the “closed eyes and all teeth” look and other people are just plain out SWITCHED.
Then, the photo taken, all people are returned to their normal appearance as if these other dimensional pranksters had never been there.
Perhaps that’s where all the deleted photos go. Perhaps this is why they do it. All the photos ever deleted travel to another dimension and these PRANKSTERS they sit around and have a good laugh.
Perhaps this is the same dimension that all the odd socks go to... Who knows? Thats a story for another day.
Another one of lifes mysteries
SOLVE-ED
Thank you. Thank you very much

P.s. If anyone wishes to add some actual science type stuff to explain this I would be interested in what you have to say.

Furthering Your Education Is Fun...and somewhat confusing

For those of you that do not know, TAFE is an acronym for Technical and Further Education.
So far, things have been going well and I am really enjoying the course.
Today I was promoted to Administrative Supervisor in our model office... HOORAY!
Watch out world, here I come...A little bit late I know but as my brother says, I am evolving.
Sorta like a butterfly.

Claytons Post. The Post You Post When You Really Have Nothing To Post (Try saying that fast)

Things are starting to look up

It is quite cold here this morning.I say 'quite' because i just know that some of you on the other side of the world will be saying..
"How could she possibly be cold in Australia?" OR "Cold? She does not know the meaning of cold"
Well in my defence it IS cold and even though i have been to other parts of the planet and experienced being REALLY cold i guess it is just what you are used to and, well, there is always going to be somewhere colder isn't there?

Unless of course if you live in Antarctica then there is nowhere colder , YOU WIN and i am just a whinger.

But i digress. It is cold and this has made me happy,it means that i can wear all my winter clothes and best of all my favorite scarf...i love that scarf

Oh and the winter coat i bought late last winter and did not really get to wear that much.

I am also happy as when i returned home yesterday there was a little card in the letter box that says i have an item of registered mail at the post office...now this is a complete mystery to me and could possibly turn out to be something totally lame BUT I'm excited anyway.

Oh and Ben is coming over to drive me to said post office, and spending time with Ben is lots of fun and always makes me happy.

I am uplifted by the everyday.

xox eve xox

P.s. I also learnt a new word. It is,Drum roll please... Crapooping. Find out more over at monkee makers place

And i must thank Weasel for the picture
Thanks Weasel,your sooooo Fine.
Oh and Natile Dee for drawing the said picture

Just to let you know the registered post thingy was NOT for me but for my daughter Kinta...so that was EXTREMELY LAME...lame for me ...but now i am excited for kinta and can not wait for her to get home and open it...perhaps there is chocolate in there...maybe
AND the trip to the post office with Ben and the coffee afterwards was lots of fun..Thanks Ben xox

Outdoor Sporting Goods AND A Giant Licorice All-Sorts Woman

I was just over at Local Girls place, reading about the stuff she has just purchased, and it made me think of my own experiences with-

CAMPING EQUIPMENT... [Dramatic re-verb]

OH yes! Camping gear.

We have a HUGE sporting goods store down the road.It is so big that they have all the display tents set up inside so you can 'check em out' Plus indoor climbing and EVERYTHING else that you have ever dreamed of all in ONE HUGE ROOM!!

BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE...

You go there and somehow become quite passionate (sucked in) about something you have never even done,or even thought about doing.
And you begin to feel that you simply must have that Portable, Solar, Camping Shower with camouflage accessories, complimentary toiletries and SIX precision steak knives at "No extra cost"

IT'S GREAT...

Last winter i ended up with a pair of purple, black and white striped thermal underwear with matching top- A
s supplied to the something-or-other Olympic team and made out of some sort of super dooper, recycled, guilt free fibre that apparently, and i quote, "breathes"

I love wearing them,as when i do i look like a very tall licorice all sort!

I must say though that they actually are incredibly toastie in a breathe-e sort of way

And don't even get me started on just how fabby-do the bicycle section is.
I have never seen so many gadgets!

OH JOY OF JOYS...

So near, yet financially soooooooo far...sigh..Oh well. I still have my licorice all-sorts/Where's Wally outfit...YAY!

xox eve xox

Post Script- My,so far,all time, favorite bike gadget is my little, super dooper head light (not it's real name!)
It is my favorite because when i was looking at it in a fancy schmancy bikes only shop... The salesman approached me and started telling me all about it and the other lights that they had on display.
I asked a few questions.
He sensed that he was loosing me...AND THEN, pointing at the little head light and showing me something printed into it's sleek, black casing
He said -"It's WATERPROOF to 50 meters"

SOLD

This will so come in handy when i am riding my push bike*

20.000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA!!!!!!!

*also known as-"The Deadly Treadly"
