I'm bored, I'm the chairman of the board...

I am at work, I am sitting at my desk and I am plotting how I can get out of here and head home in order to snatch some quality rest time before I have to 'hit the gym' tonight.

OK so maybe that sentence was just a way for me to sound all fit and healthy and stuff (which I am not) or maybe it was a chance for me to sound like other, normal people. Like I am doing things that normal people do....is there a point? Well, yes, yes there is but it is hidden so deeply in the subtext and my subconscious that I dare not let it see the light of day let alone the Internet...but I digress, what was I saying?

I am bored yes, but also excited to be able to post. I sent the IT department an email saying that there was something wrong with my computer, that I could not access web sites and that some of the links were blocked etc etc. I even went so far as to say that I could not access facebook (one of our departments has a facebook page so it was a legitimate request).

I received a nice email a few days later telling me that they had fixed the problem and could I please check to see that it was all fixed. My cunning plan had succeeded! My thinking was that if they allowed me to access facebook then everything else would become accessible too. So here I am.

Previously, when I went to my blog site I could not see any of the side bar info and could not sign-in to create a new post. Basically, I'm a genius.

On that note I will bid you adieu.

Paper Pictures - Window and Dog

This was fun. There is something very liberating about tearing paper in order to create an image, there is no expectation of perfection and the results are very satisfying and even unexpected.

· It is interesting watching different people deal with someone that wants to argue, I was the one walking out of the room into another part of the house...within 5 minutes everyone was hiding with me and we laughed.

· My daughter is leaving to visit her father’s family in Western Australia. I am afraid that she will never come back.

· During my holidays all I did was look at real estate and now I am dreaming about floor plans.

· I have been tempted to return to the dark side.

· I am typing this list when I should be doing homework, laundry, drying my hair and making myself a coffee.

· My graphics tablet is not working and I cannot re install the software that would fix it, as it is buried and locked away with all my other junk at a storage unit in Camperdown.I hate storage.

· I am bored and need something, anything to happen.

· I am sick of looking at 1 bedroom flats and wish I could look at 2 bedroom houses (with a little garden would be perfect).

· My list is all complaints so far BUT my neck hurts, sorry.

· I am thankful for the friends and family that I have around me they make me laugh, give advice and they tell you that you are looking good and doing well and these are things I REALLY need to hear right now.

· I had a nice weekend with Ben, Amanda and Lili... We walked, talked and had lunch together which was lovely.

· I think I should stop writing this list as all I can think of now is more negative crap and my brain has stopped working.

I need to find my nest.

I have become numb with it all and it is all nothing.

Another Semester Finished.

Well, here I sit having finished all the exams and work required...what will I do with my time for the next three weeks?
I will promise myself that I will draw.
I will vow to carry my sketch book and camera around with me everywhere looking for and seizing upon those moments of inspiration...I will, I will.
I will also over indulge on facebook and blogger, I will stalk Bulldog like I used to and send messages to my favorite Weasel.
I will visit my daughter and play with my granddaughter...Oh joy.
I will read newspapers and drink coffee.
I will wish I had more money but be glad that I don't.
I will think about old friends and wonder what people are up too these days.
I will love and be loved.
I will eat the forbidden donut (10 points to anyone that knows where that line comes from)

I will be uplifted by the everyday.

Steer Clear of Water Fowl

Beware...they are on their way to a pond near you!

I have a friend who, when hearing about swine flu from a taxi driver with a thick accent, believed that it was called Swan Flu he even went so far as to talk to the driver of how people must be very worried in Western Australia and that Centennial Park must be in lock down (due to the large number of swans) In the end the driver could take no more and explained in a very slow voice that he believed that my friend was not understanding him, he then said ‘SWAN, SWAN, SWAN you know PIG!’ My friend ( who is quite smart but was suffering from jet lag) reached his destination. As the taxi departed he stood on the side of the road for a minute...it was then he realised what had just happened...and I have been telling his story and rubbing it in and laughing ever since...SWAN FLU ha ha ha ha ha what an idiot

With Birds I Share This Lonely View.

I have been very quiet haven't I? I have been busy with three days at college and all that goes along with that. Today I am studying for my bookkeeping assessment...I'm trying to make bookkeeping fun...TRYING! 'Leave loading' and 'tax withholding' are such fun things and lets not even start on the hilarity of tax tables or I may just pee myself a little.

Let's see what has been going on...my grand daughter is now almost 5 months old and she thinks that I am hilarious, she is just super dooper what more can I say.






I have been trying to avoid the 'ines' ie: nicotine, caffeine, morphine etc....just thought I'd share that with you all.

It has been raining for days and days and as I type this it is bucketing down outside....If this keeps up our fashions by the end of the week will be just FAB...I'm already running out of socks and jocks...that's me sharing again.



I have a nice big desk set up in my room and a groovy pin board that I am, I fear, a little toooo excited about.

One of my teachers said that she thought that I was a perfectionist, It was like she was informing me of some terminal illness, she even did the 'tisk' sound...I think that I can rise above these sorts of comments but this one has me wondering and reviewing my life and my shortfalls...It has made me think toooo much and this is not always a good thing for me.

It has stopped me from drawing as now I feel that the reason I could not draw for so long was because I was a perfectionist and why draw if it is not going to be perfect...ahhhhh

This is where my head has been for a while now.

Pfffffft Oh well thats about all for now except that I did want to say that one day I will have a groovy warehouse conversion and you can all come and stay with me when you are in Sydney on holidays or when fleeing from justice which ever comes first.


You are all just such beautiful people and I'm sending each and everyone of you a big squeezy hug....can you feel it?

Do not get excited, I know you are, I still have no internet but next week I will be looking after a cat and the cat's internet connected home so I will have internet FOR 40 days. Mua-ah-ahhhhh.

But really it's all about the cat...honestly..it is.

The Start of Something.

This is the card I made for my friend Joss's birthday, she asked for everyone to make their cards.
I then started thinking about doing a painting, a painting about not being able to decide what to paint.
I just needed to buy a canvas and I'd be set...this usually leads to months of procrastination.
But... I went for a walk yesterday to get my morning coffee and there it was, a canvas, leaning against the wall in a lane way absolutely perfect condition and size.
So there you go!
As my daughter said- It was meant to be.
I'll keep you abreast (oh yeah!) of my progress.

What Have I Been Up To?

Look what my Daughter did! Isn't she clever?

Well we were all waiting for this little girl to arrive.

My phone was ALWAYS in my hand or under my pillow waiting for the call to say she was on her way, so if I have not developed so sort of tumor I will be surprised.

I have discovered what has been going on with my neck an shoulder (another reason I have not been blogging much) I have Degenerative changes caused by an injury 10 years ago...

Another name for this, besides painful, is ARTHRITIS.

It will NEVER go away...Never!

I am having trouble accepting the "never" part.

I have started swimming again which is nice and will help with the neck.

I stopped smoking on Tuesday night...yes,yes. I know,I know..This time it's for real.

Just gotta get over that 3 day hump and I'll be right...I WILL be.

I have not been drawing much lately....the neck again.

I will be re-enrolling and continuing my business course.

My Dad will be 88 (two fat ladies!) soon...

I am fighting with a router...it will NOT work! I have to climb up to the attic room and plug into my brothers connection if I want to do ANYTHING that needs the internet

I have been playing too much computer solitaire

Well.... that is really all I can think of to say...I could say more but it would involve lots of computer sitting and that hurts.

Ouch!

Happy New Year Everyone

The Bridge Climb - The view is awesome dude!

What can I say...I can say that it was O.K... I would have preferred a little bit more of that 'oh shit oh shit I'm gunna die' feeling but they have gone so totally over the top with safety that I found myself looking for danger, and that is not a healthy thought process to have, especially for me.
Would I do it again? Yes, but at night next time..It would be more thrilling at night.


Before you even get to the bridge proper you have to do a few things.

• Sit in a little waiting area until your group is called.
• When called you are moved into another even smaller room to fill out forms, confess to any major operations in the last 6 months and...be breathalysed (where's the fun in that?)
• You are then told to walk through another door and to stand on little circles painted onto the floor, I assumed this was to prevent us from getting tangled up with each other.
• The nice woman then looks us all up and down in order to size us for our sexy one piece jump suit (not the right name me thinks)
• You are told to remove watches, large earrings, bracelets and any hair accessories..elastic bands are o.k but scrunchies are out. At this point my mind wanders thinking of what sort of weapon a scrunchy could be fashioned into!!!
• You are told to remove everything from your pockets and to only wear a light layer of clothing under the suit.
• Then, with jump suit in hand, it is into another smaller room with lockers.
• Choose a locker, walk behind one of the little curtain change areas and strip.
• Spend 1 min putting on your jump suit and 10 minutes helping others put theirs on the right way
• Place all your contraband into the locker and the locker key around your neck.
• Is this starting to sound like prison yet???
• You are then made to walk through a metal detector once through the detector you are double checked by someone with a hand held wand thingy
• Oh and you are told that when walking through the detector just to clasp your hand around your locker key (that is around your neck) so as not to set it off- At this point my companion turns to say that this is a tip that we can now use at international airports
• My mind wanders, thinking of what you could conceal in your closed hand that could possibly cause chaos- a tiny explosive device, a tiny gun, a really nasty tiny dog.
• Blahh blahh you get kitted up
• You climb/walk the bridge.
• You do all the above points in reverse (ouch)
• You collect your free group photo and refuse to pay $24 plus for any of the other photos they took whilst you were up there.
• You go to the pub with the nice Scottish couple you met whilst climbing and have a stiff drink.

I am very excited and a little terrified, but in that good way... do you understand?
Next Wednesday I will be climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge...EEeeeeeep.
And it wont just be the usual over the arch climb it will be the new and exciting through the girders climb...don't ask me now what this means, ask me next week.
I am not sure about the rules for cameras and such but I will borrow one and I will take photos if possible.
I am a little stuck for words at the moment as I keep looking at this beautiful painting (above)
It is just amazing and even better in real life...[BIG SIGH]
I fear that this little adventure of mine could start me on a harbour bridge theme and I have only just started getting into the birdy thing...Just go with it I guess.
How exciting.
